Flex Applications for Excel
What's
your "absolute flexibility" for Excel? Something that is
fun? Something mysterious and dark?
I've
demonstrated some Excel Flexes, both on the blog and on my Contextures
website. Examples:
-Convert IPv4
address into IPv6 address.

Excel Radio
Streaming
One
of the "flexiest" Excel projects I've encountered is a radio
streaming workbook that was developed by the former Excel MVP Harald
Staff. Apart from being an Excel specialist, Harald also worked in
broadcasting in his native country of Norway.
Harald's
internet radio Excel workbook is compact (47 kb) and simple to utilize.
- Download
and open the Web Radio file, and allow macros.
- Double-click
one of the names of radio stations in column A.
- It runs
only a few lines of code to play the station on it's embedded Windows
Media Player.
- You are
able to add or delete stations from the list depending on your preference
(or absence of taste)
You can download

You can use here to get Harald's how to
transpose excel. The file is compressed and is in Excel format in
xls. There's VBA code within the workbook, and you'll be notified when
opening the document.
More Information on
Radio Streaming
You
can learn more about Harald and his workbook on radio streaming in my
Spreadsheet Day blog.
Unfortunately,
Harald passed away in December 2020, which was too early. I first had the
pleasure of meeting Harald at an Microsoft conference in the year 2001 which
was enjoyable to meet Harald.
